Another May 14th Kittens Update
Apologies for lack of updates but the kittens and other things have kept me busy. Here is a rather longish update.
Sadly one of the white kittens with black spots passed away. It was at the halfway point of the third day. I do not know what happened.
The other four are doing okay. They all have their eyes open and now can see me. They spit at me when I come around. *grin*
The orange one though seems a bit weak and is smaller by a large margin than her siblings. I think I will end up removing that kitten from mom tomorrow and nursing it myself.
I spent many hours today watching and that little one could not seem to get enough milk. The other kittens were pushing it away and it also seems a bit weak. It doesn’t seem to get its front legs under it very well.
This may not be anything. I have had a cat have her kittens in my bedroom closet once. She had a little grey kitten that could not get his back legs under him. He soon grew out of that and got his back legs working just fine.
This little orange kitten could be the same. I just think I need to take control of this one or it will die. Yeah so she is the runt but she deserves a chance. I can’t just leave her.
She will be there overnight but in the morning I will be taking her in the house after I return home with some formula for her.
The other kittens will be staying with mom a bit longer but not too much longer. If I am to tame them I have to remove them before they get too wild. As it is they spit and hiss at me. It doesn’t seem really threatening though with them being as small as they are. *grin*
I will post more soon and try to get some pictures of the babies in the next few days if I can. The little orange kitten will likely keep my pretty busy as it still needs to eat very often.
