Update on the weak kitten
Well I have removed this kitten from the nest site. It is a little girl and I have decided to name her Bizkit.
Thanks to a friend of mine the little calico also has a name now, Ruffian. The all black one and the other white one with black spots are still without names at this moment. That could change any minute though. *smiles*
So little Bizkit is doing a bit better but it is slow going. I still feel there is a strong chance she won’t make it but I keep caring for her and hoping for the best outcome.
I spent a rough night last night not getting much sleep because I dozed off with her laying on my chest in her little towel. Every mew, grumble, spit noise, or movement she made woke me up. It was all worth it though to hear her purring so often.
I just could not have bared to leave her alone even though I badly needed sleep. Around 4 a.m. I put her back into her nest in the other room and shut the door. I had to get some serious sleep. I did, about 4 hours worth so I will be good to go for another night of restless sleep with the little one perched on my chest.
She still doesn’t move around much. Her siblings move around a lot more than she does but she is getting better. Just this morning after her feeding she got up on all fours however briefly. It is definitely an encouraging sign though. Her meow is strong also so that is another good sign.
As for the other three, her siblings. I will most likely be taking them and moving them inside in about a week. I figure at least by next Saturday to start them being socialized to people before they get too big and too wild. Then I can find them homes as well after they are weaned.
