Three Wild Kittens
Updates
June 10: The kittens are doing great. It was touch and go there the first couple of days. I had to feed all of them several times each day by hand. There was one kitten that had to be forced to eat. Now all three are eating on their own, even the weakest kitten which isn’t weak anymore. Just the other night she was romping around with her siblings. *smile*
It is going to cost $39 per kitten to get them examined by a vet. That comes to $117 and if they need medication for anything it will be higher. The little black one has some sort of eye infection which might need antibiotics. I have been cleaning it several times daily and it does look better than before.
They will also need to have at least their first round of shots before I send them to their new homes. I have no idea what the cost of that will be as it is still several weeks away…
June 11: They are really doing great. I will have more pictures very soon. I gave them their first ‘towel bath’ today to clean them up some. I didn’t want to do this while they were still in a delicate condition. I also moved them to more permanent living quarters. I have done this before so I still had all the stuff. Now they have their own little area with everything they need: a bed, a few toys, kitten size litter box, and food/water dishes. I do adore them all but I have to admit that little black one is really growing on me. *smile*
June 12: I want to thank all who have donated. At last count I am about $21 dollars away from having the full amount needed to get them all a vet exam. I could not have done this without your help. These little angels were a complete surprise to find underneath my car. They are eating like there will be no tomorrow. LOL. That is good though and they are growing stronger every day. They are also relaxing much more and starting to play more than they did at first.
I will try to get some new pictures posted tomorrow. Thank you again for all the donations. I am sure the little kittens thank you too as now they can get really good health care.
June 15: They are doing really well. They eat, sleep, eat, play, sleep, eat, play… LOL. It is hard to get them to sit still for pictures but I am trying to get some good ones.
Thanks to all who have donated. I am about 15 dollars away now from the full amount for their basic examination. The response has been overwhelming and we really appreciate all your kindness.
June 26: I realize it has been a long time since I made an update. I apologize but the kittens have been keeping me busy.
They are doing great but will still be with me a few more weeks yet. I will have some more pictures soon and you will be amazed at how well they are doing. They are now bathing themselves regularly so I don’t have to do it now. That is a relief. It is not the easiest thing in the world to keep 3 kittens clean. *grin* More updates and new photos coming in a few more days.
July 27: This will be the next to last update on the kittens as they are now ready to go to new homes. I apologize for not making more updates but the kittens and life has kept me busy. I have also rescued another orphaned kitten July 22 so he has also been keeping me busy. I have given him the nickname of Marty and more about him will be coming up soon. He is still being bottle fed so he keeps me pretty well occupied. *grin*
The money donated will be used to pay for part of the 3 gift certificates I am going to purchase for the new owners of the kittens. The gift certificates will cover the first vet exam for each kitten. Each certificate costs $40 and it is $120.00 for all three. I could not have done this without the help of all the generous people who donated and used the search links to help out. There will be one at least and maybe two more updates made.
